Seismogram generation

The ray theory synthetic seismograms are computed for 16 receivers located at the diagonal line in the depth of 0 km. Coordinates of receivers and of the point source may be found in data files 98-rec.dat and 98-src.dat. See the 3-D picture (14,5 kB) showing the position of the source and of the receivers in the model.

Two-point rays of four reflected elementary waves are computed in the first step of the computation running program CRT. For the 3-D view of the rays together with the structural interfaces refer to the VRML file 98-ray.wrl.

Output of CRT is converted to the Green function using the program GREEN.

Source time function is generated running the program SS, time domain synthetic seismograms are computed using the program GREENSS and the resulting seismograms are visualized running the program SP

Response function is generated using the program GREENSS. Frequency domain synthetic seismograms are then computed running the program SS and the results are again visualized using the program SP.

As it is quite difficult to judge the obtained results only according to the generated synthetic seismograms, we decided to check them in more detail. We discovered several parameters in the above input data files, which have to be changed. Thus we do not show here history files for above computations, but we will give them at the end of the next page:
